According to the Sodor in 2025 lecture written by Richard Awdry, The University of Sodor was founded in the late 1990s. This university focuses on ecology and engineering, and even has an association with Crovan's Gate Works on the North Western Railway. The engineers that would come out of this university would go on to make the most advanced and efficient steam engines in the world. Interestingly enough, I found an old Thomas shirt that said Sodor University on it, and I took it upon myself to use a similar piece of promotional art to make my own version of what would have been a fun college shirt that Sodor possibly would have made!
